Welcome to my evolving portfolio.

My name is Samantha Jane, I'm a performance poet and photographer. I hope your experience viewing the featured images brings you moments for contemplation and perhaps joy. I try to focus on conveying "moments of reverence." Occasionally I also capture "moments of mischief." Then there are the various and sundry snapshots.

I am honored to have had my work recognized with awards at The Marblehead Arts Association, most recently one juried by a curator of 20th century photography at Harvard's Fogg Museum. My poetry featured on KUNM's "Peace Talks" has been heard across the country on NPR. By invitation, I exhibited at Governor Deval Patrick's inaugural ball representing the Northshore.

My portraiture is on to a new level, and award winning piece was included in the "Artist's Choice Show" at the Somerville Museum for Somerville Open Studios show 2008 and now resides in a private collection. I also started doing more weddings and children's photography in 2008 and have a special interest in photographing pregnancy. It's wonderful to have a place to formally showcase my work and am thrilled to be participating regularly in Somerville Open Studios, the Marblehead Arts Association, LynnArts, the Winthrop Art Association. My work is featured at the Dragonfly Giftshop and Gallery in Somerset, MA
